I suppose anyone who knew these children – friends, relatives and so on – will be overcome with hatred for those who killed them and for or who supported their killers or deliberately stood by while they were killed. These devastated family members may devote the rest of their lives to exacting revenge via any and all means available to them and they may encourage others to do the same.

No one will be able to reason with them. No one will be able to assuage their grief by any concessions or restitution.

This is perfectly natural.
